Lode is a desktop app (Windows, Linux) that downloads media from links (YouTube, TikTok, X, Twitch, Vimeo, SoundCloud…) and converts local files (video, audio, GIF, images), with a browser extension that sends links straight to the app.

Focus on - priority: the browser extension

• Install the extension whenever you want, before or after the app: does it end up connected to the app on its own?
• Send a page from the extension to the app in one click: does the download start in the app?
• Download straight from the extension popup: progress, completion, errors
• Account sync: without pressing Connect in the app, does Settings > Accounts show "Connected - Synced from " for the sites you're logged in to in that browser? (the extension must be installed)
